Today our library welcomed author and retired policeman Steve Reyes for a gripping presentation of his true crime book, Four Miles East of Bagdad 📜🔎 Meet Searcy, a biracial African American transient man in 1880’s Bagdad, California, who is unjustly accused of a crime. Our patrons were deeply invested in the outcome of Searcy’s short-lived trial, the mystery behind his life story, and how the themes reverberate into our current day. All of our patrons took home a free signed copy!
