When photographing nature, always remember to adhere to an ethical code of contact.

🐾 Prioritize the welfare of the subject. Avoid getting too close to animals, chasing animals, or disturbing dens and babies. Photograph animals from as far as possible, and zoom in.

🐾 Stay on designated trails. Straying off the trail could lead to crushing baby plants, insect nests, and even the dens of small creatures like mice. I know everyone wants a selfie of themselves lying in a bed of wildflowers, but this damages the ecosystem. Take a pic in front of the flowers, on the trail.

🐾 Stay safe, and keep your distance from animals and insects that could harm you.

🐾 Keep your pets on a 6-ft or shorter leash to keep them from harassing or damaging wildlife. Pick up after them, and leave no trace.
