Yes, I have begun Stephenson Cree's going out of business sale. Preparing for this shut down has been very bittersweet.
No more Holiday Open Houses where Debbie and I prepared enough food to last a week!
No more long coffee breaks where I got to chat with Sally and Carol or Alice first thing in the morning.
I'll miss our regulars, those that came in weekly and those who came once or twice a year. So many stopped for a chat, and would say they were here for their "retail therapy"

We also sold the business building. As we were pulling up the seemingly endless supplies of furniture, and decorating props and business records I have been sifting through the 85 plus years of my family's retail fashion legacy. I am sorry that it ends with me. But I am so proud to have been a part of a dream that started as a little ladies clothing store in downtown Riverside, in 1935.
