Fairy Fortunes by Ruby Ruse
I feel there are more elements. Life starts out as conceptional doesn’t it? It’s an idea…or an accident. You have to have water that flows and dirt that is grounded. If you have that together you’ve got mud that can be molded. But whose dream is going to mold that clay? Eh? And clay requires movement. The ground shakes when a baby is born. And a baby cries they vibrate the air.
And what eases a baby’s pain of being separated from their ground? Why milk of course. Fuel must come before the fire of learning. And with fire comes metal. Where is your mettle? And Glass…although glass can exist without the hand of man. Water and earth both can make reflections. Last is the wood…it was there all along but the baby was too little to notice it.
Dirt, Water, Mud, Bone (Mystery), Air, Milk, Fire, Metal, Glass, Wood - these are the elements of matriarchy
I saw some beautiful gowns on Pinterest. They were probably AI generated. They look like fairy costumes and it makes me remember that I love performing at fairy festivals. But I was wondering…what if I found a discarded bridesmaid dress in a beautiful shade of pink or green and I added crochet flowers and glass beads? I’ve always been a bit of a rustic fairy but my second costume was made of this truly beautiful fabric brocade which suggested I was craving a costume of a more refined status. I need something that can help me breathe though in the Midwest heat. And something more simple - a dress is just one piece instead of the over four piece set that went with my brocade.

I’m in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I didn’t expect to be in Wyoming I was headed to Colorado from Nevada and this was the route the GPS said was quickest.
Well, I’ve experienced:
Tucson, Arizona
Sedona, Arizona
Flagstaff, Arizona
Camp Verde, Arizona
Quartzite, Arizona
Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Barstow, California
Palo Alto, California
Nevada City, California
Virginia City, California
Salt Lake City, Utah
Rawlins, Wyoming
Cheyenne, Wyoming
Once in Colorado I’ll be on Episode 2 of Supernatural. Someone really needs to tell Dean Wi******er (or rather his writer Eric Kripke) that Colorado is NOT 6 hours from Nevada County California even if you don’t get squirrel brain looking for ghosts in Virginia City, Nevada.
I love the belt buckle, power outlet, and iguana but I’m not a 26 year old fictional character. Episode 3 is in Wisconsin which is simply too close to Chicago to skirt by. I’m still going to collect some adventures between Colorado and Illinois but I’m calling it. Moo Moo and Holstein are ready to go home to their own bed and I am too.
