I haven’t seen brake pistons this bad in a long time. 👀

These SRAM Guide pistons were heavily corroded and barely moving. Over time, DOT fluid absorbs moisture, and when you combine that with dirt, brake dust, and years of exposure, corrosion can start to form on the pistons. Once that happens, the pistons no longer move freely, leading to sticky brakes, uneven pad wear, rotor rub, and poor braking performance.

This is a good reminder that hydraulic brakes aren’t maintenance-free. A little preventative service goes a long way toward keeping your brakes working properly and extending the life of your components.

Have you ever pulled apart a brake and found pistons this bad? 👨🏻‍🔧⚙️🚲
