Last week, we proudly celebrated the promotion of Sergeant T. Monks, #18848, to the rank of Lieutenant.

The Riverside community has benefited from Lieutenant Monks’ dedicated service as our Sergeant for many years, and we’re thrilled to continue benefiting from his leadership in this new role.

A special highlight of the ceremony was Lieutenant Monks’ wife pinning on his new Lieutenant bars, with many friends, family, and colleagues in attendance. His unwavering leadership, professionalism, and integrity continue to set the highest standard for our office and inspire everyone around him.

On June 24, 2026, the Riverside County Transportation Commission held a groundbreaking event for the Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway Project in the Nuevo area.

This project is designed to improve safety and travel times on Ramona Expressway. These improvements will help residents traveling to and from job centers, schools, and other regional destinations.

Among the speakers in attendance, Riverside Captain E. Meeker addressed the guests on the importance of roadway improvements such as these in areas frequently traveled.

As part of the ongoing construction for the RCTC Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway project, nightly closures on Ramona Expressway between Rider Street and Warren Road will be required

Details of the closure are as follows:

• Nightly full closures of eastbound Ramona Expressway -10 p.m.-5 a.m. from Sunday, June 28 through Thursday, July 2 , 2026

• Nightly full closures of eastbound Ramona Expressway- 10 p.m.-5 a.m. from Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026

Please plan ahead and use alternate routes. Drive safe whenever your behind the wheel, always wear your seatbelt, and always designate a sober driver.
