We are excited to be partnering with Cellar Door Books for their Community in Conversation series where we will be discussing Marla A. RamΓrez's pivotal book Banished Citizens: A History of the Mexican American Women Who Endured Repatriation. Moderated by co-author of the Mexican American Baseball in the South Bay, Ron Gonzales, join us Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM for a conversation about the 1930s Mexican repatriation.πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

Even if the repatriation didn't affect you or your family directly, we see the effects it's had on our communities and current administrative policies and we want to encourage the community to join together for a discussion! πŸ™Œβœ¨

to The Civics Lab! ✨

From November 2025 to May 2026, a group of passionate students joined us to explore what it means to be civically engaged leaders. Through conversations with community leaders, hands-on learning, and professional development workshops, participants gained valuable skills in leadership, advocacy, resume building, interviewing, and more. πŸ“šβœ¨

We’re proud of the growth, ideas, and dedication these students brought to the program, and we’re excited to continue empowering the next generation of changemakers.🌟

Keep an eye on our page, more opportunities for students will be coming soon!! πŸ€—βœ¨
