I sat down with a potential client earlier for a Medicare consultation. He showed me his current group coverage, and it was very good. The benefits would have been comparable to Medicare (plus a supplement/MA plan), but at a substantially lower cost. I had to advise him to stay on his current group coverage through work until he was actually ready to retire. He thanked me for my honest advice, and told me he'd be giving me a call sometime next year when he actually does leave his job.
