Community Yoga Initiative

For eight years, a community of yogis has been sharing yoga with loving and generous hearts. What began as a simple gesture of kindness has grown into a living wellness movement, devoted to nurturing the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of human beings through the practice of yoga.♥️
On Friday, March 27th, from 6:00–9:00 pm at Community Yoga Center, we invite you to gather with us in celebration and gratitude. This evening honors the facilitators, practitioners, and community members who have made thousands of free yoga offerings possible-and who continue to offer yoga as something shared, not sold.♥️
More details will come.
For now, mark your calendar.
Make space.
Come celebrate what we’ve co-created together.♥️

You are not alone. And you do not have to carry this moment by yourself. We recognize the intensity of this time and how it can affect physical, mental, and emotional health - often in ways that are unseen, yet deeply felt. In the midst of it all, we offer a place to pause, rest, and be.
Every day, we share free yoga classes as an offering of care. These gatherings are a gentle invitations to rest, move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. A space where you don’t need to explain or perform – only arrive as you are.
Through gentle movement, meditation, and intentional rest, we share practices that support resilience, connection, and healing. We hold the belief that caring for our health is not only a personal act, but a collective one. For us, yoga is rooted in relationship - with ourselves, with each another, and the larger whole – the interconnectedness of everyone and everything.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, activated or tender - or simply in need of space to be - you are welcome here.
We see you. We acknowledge what you are carrying. And we are here for you. We invite you to join us in commUNITY practice. We believe, deeply, that coming together in this way can make a difference. The challenges we face cannot be met in silos. They require communion rooted in deep presence, honesty, and love for one another. ♥️

It’s been a gift to practice with so many of you this month. Thank you for co-creating a space where we can come together in presence, openness, and shared intention. As we’ve all experienced, yoga supports us on many levels. It reduces stress, opens the body and mind, and helps us find calm. These benefits are real and meaningful - and they are only a small part of what yoga is.
Yoga is not just self-care; it is a path of connection. It invites us to bring full awareness into the world, including it’s pain and injustice - to turn toward suffering rather than away from it - to recognize how our individual well-being is inseparable from collective conditions.
When we cultivate steadiness, clarity, and compassion on the mat, we build the capacity to meet the world as it is. We are practicing how to stay present in discomfort, how to respond without collapsing or hardening, and how walk alongside suffering rather than turn away from it.
This matters because the challenges we face cannot be met through individual well-being alone. They require committed action rooted in deep presence, wisdom, and care for one another.
i hope you’ll keep practicing with us - for yourself, and for the collective.♥️
With Love,
Kristin

This week on the mat was ashta-awesome! Bodies moving and breathing, hearts opening - together becoming a little more ashta-aware and ashta-alive. It was ashta-amazing!
What makes this practice so special is its accessibility.
Ashtanga yoga is known for being intense, advanced, or only for certain bodies. At Community Yoga Center, we practice something different. Here, ashtanga yoga is for everyone. Every body. Every background. Every level of experience. This is All-Abilities Ashtanga - and it’s rare. Very rare.
I am deeply grateful for Kimberly Jones, whose knowledge, skill, and unwavering commitment make this practice possible. Her guidance and dedication create a space where we can all move, breathe, and belong. This offering exists because of her love for yoga and willingness to share it generously, without gatekeeping.
All-Abilities Ashtanga challenges the assumptions that yoga is “not for you.” There’s no pressure to achieve a certain pose, no expectation of prior experience, and no cost to practice with us. This practice isn’t sold - it’s shared, freely and from the heart.
In this space, differences are welcomed, abilities are honored, and curiosity is encouraged. You’re invited to move in ways that feel safe and supportive for your body, explore your breath, and connect in community. Together, we co-create a space where everyone belongs, where yoga is a resource for health and wellness, not exclusivity.
If you’ve ever wondered what All-Abilities Ashtanga could feel like for your body, this is your invitation.
Come as you are.
Step onto the mat.
Breathe. Move. Open.
Leave a little more alive than when you arrived.
