Our company has reported an increase in skimmer devices found on atms all over California. There has been new technology coming out on almost a daily basis that makes it harder for people like you and me to keep our digital information safe.

After speaking with local law enforcement, we found that the first line of defense is to know your local atm machines and try to keep these additional tips in mind while using an atm machine:

Take an overall look at the machine for noticeable damage.
Be observant of any changes to the machine regarding stickers that weren't there the week before or screws that may be missing. Some stickers may be used to cover camera lenses.
Watch out for damaged or loose parts such as the card reader.
Shield fingers as you enter a PIN number.
