It is another day and we hope you are staying safe and keeping fit. Let us remind ourselves of one of those things that could prevent our cars from starting, a bad/clogged fuel filter.

A fuel filter is a filter in a fuel line that screens out dirt and rust particles from the fuel, and is normally made into cartridges containing a filter paper. They are found in most internal combustion engines. Once this component is clogged due to dirt, then it becomes difficult for the right amount of fuel to go through. This would result to your engine cranking but never starting.

The holidays are upon us and we love seeing places, please stay safe as your embark on those journeys. Remember 2020 has taken a lot from us but we should not let it take more than is necessary. We at AutoFlex Global wish to share some safety travel tips with you below.

One of the first things you should check if you experience difficulties switching on your car engine is the fuel/gas level. It is very easy to assume that there is sufficient petrol, but experience reveals that assumption is not always the right option.

So how can you confirm the status of your fuel/gas level? Simply switch on the ignition without switching on the engine and patiently wait for the dashboard indicators to come on. Now pay attention to your fuel/gas tank gauge to be sure. If your gauge fails to work, please contact a capable mechanic close by for assistance. This is with the notion that your battery is still functional.

Seven reasons why your car may refuse starting:

1. Empty fuel tank.
2. Bad fuel pump.
3. Dead battery.
4. Bad ignition switch.
5. Broken starter.
6. Clogged/bad injector or carburetor(for older cars).
7. Clogged/damaged fuel filter.
