Mississippians recovering from 2026's January’s will have in-person help available across our state.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency ( ), alongside federal and local partners, is opening multiple sites across the state to assist residents impacted by the Jan. 23–27 storm.

Starting Monday, April 27, at noon, a mix of Disaster Recovery Centers and Disaster Survivor Assistance sites will begin serving storm victims.

Officials say these locations will provide face-to-face help with registration, assistance information, and referrals to recovery resources.

Disaster Recovery Centers

The following centers are expected to open at noon on Monday, April 27.

Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday is closed.

Disaster Survivor Assistance Sites

The following sites will open at noon on Monday, April 27.

The hours of operation will be Monday, April 27: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.; Tuesday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday is closed

These locations are temporary and are expected to operate for about a week per site.

Individuals can apply for assistance by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-3362.

Federal funding is available to affected individuals in several counties and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses.
