With the World Cup keeping us on edge, here’s part two of Richmond United's office tour and all the details. ✨️

Some key features:
>Positioned at the heart of the campus, the new office serves as a central hub connecting players, coaches, and families.
>This conference room brings the club's colors to life with bold light fixtures and patterns, all while keeping the fields in full view.
>The building's crisp lines and striking roofline make a statement before you ever step inside.
>Simple, modern details elevate every corner of the building even the spaces you'd least expect.

Meet Grace Keller, smbw's Summer 2026 Interiors Intern.

A junior Interior Design student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Grace is known for her driven and organized approach to design, as well as her eye for modern interiors. Through her internship, she is excited to gain hands on experience, learn more about the design process, and continue developing her skills as a designer. Featured here are samples of Grace's work with descriptions below.

Slide 1: Source Hero Shot
The bar serves as the heart of Source, creating a central gathering space that draws guests inward. Warm lighting, layered materials, and reflective surfaces work together to create an intimate and immersive atmosphere that encourages connection and conversation.

Slide 2: Custom Front Door
Designed as a sculptural focal point, the custom entry door is crafted from cast resin and patinated copper. Flowing forms and rich materials create a memorable arrival experience while introducing the warmth and craftsmanship found throughout Source.

Slide 3: Custom Staircase
Wrapped in hammered copper, the staircase creates a dramatic transition through the space. Integrated lighting guides visitors upward, transforming movement through the building into a deliberate and immersive experience.

Slide 4: Vault Tasting Room Experience
The vault tasting room offers an intimate and exclusive setting designed for exploration and discovery. Rotating self serve cocktail taps encourage curiosity and ensure each visit feels unique.

Slide 5: Look + Feel
Moodboard Inspired by Kansas City's identity as the City of Fountains, the moodboard establishes the project's foundation through warm metallics, deep tones, and reflective surfaces. The result is a layered atmosphere shaped by water, light, and materiality.

Slide 6: Custom Wallpaper
Current transforms the movement of water into a flowing hand drawn pattern that introduces rhythm, depth, and motion throughout the space. The wallpaper reinforces the project's connection to water, reflection, and movement while shaping the overall character of the interior.

Work has officially begun on Willow Circle, a 228-unit residential community planned for the Willow Lawn corridor in Henrico County, and smbw is honored to be part of the team making it happen. We are leading amenity interior design for the project, with a focus on spaces including a game room, fitness center, pet spa, and sky lounge. Our approach is grounded in the site's mid-century history, with the goal of creating spaces that genuinely reflect and serve the surrounding community.
