We are thrilled to share that we have received a grant from the Sundt Foundation to help support our 2026-2027 Student Ambassadors for Virginia's Environment (SAVE) Program for rising high school juniors and seniors! As we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday with family, friends, and fireworks, let's also show our pride by caring for the places we all share.

Today’s Green Grant recipient is Everwild Homeschool Cooperative in Hopewell. EverWild provides a nature-based, community-centered learning environment for homeschool families. Environmental stewardship is a core component of EverWild’s programming, with students participating in hands-on activities like litter cleanups. EverWild will use the $500 in funding to support cleanups in Hopewell, the surrounding Tri-Cities area, and Chesterfield County. We are eager to support this project that centers youth in our collective efforts to reduce and prevent litter in the Commonwealth!

John Dos Passos Institute in Westmoreland County has been awarded $1,000 in the Community Beautification category! The mission of the nonprofit is to nurture community, sustainability, and justice in Westmoreland County and beyond. The Institute will use the Green Grant to facilitate a community service project for local high school students this summer. The students will collect litter and remove invasive plants from the Institute’s 5-acre wooded wetland site. The Institute plans to transform the site into a mulched community walking path that will feature pollinator plants. We are eager to support this project that will promote environmental stewardship in Westmoreland County!
