Conditional love has no place in our families. 🚫 Whether it’s choosing who travels or who is 'comfortable' to be around, it’s time we shine a light on the ableism happening behind closed doors. 🔦 Have you had to set boundaries to protect your child’s worth? Let’s share below. 👇

📣This Disability Pride Month 🧡 we’re doing things a little differently. We are focusing on internalized ableism—the subtle, often invisible ways we hold negative biases against our own bodies and minds.

By sharing these real, lived experiences, we aren't aiming to create guilt. Our goal is to shine a light on these moments and start a conversation.

Conditional Love Syndrome
Yeah, it's a thing!

• Excusing the exclusion of a grandchild from travel or events by using "convenience" as a justification

• Building a deep relationship with neurotypical siblings while actively avoiding one with a disability

• Planning family activities that are inaccessible, then blaming the child for not participating

• Declining invitations to family gatherings solely because the grandchild's behavior is
"unpredictable" or "uncomfortable"

This month, let's have pride and honor our uniqueness, exactly as we are!

✨Together, we can choose to replace self-judgment with total pride, embracing every part of our identity.
