Juniper Tree
This is a super new tune written after a poem of mine by the same title, ‘Fisherwoman (A Refrain)’. Poetry helps me explore meaning and even nurture it in the areas of my inner world that have begun to seem lost for meaning. When I feel despair, I want to reach out and find beauty, and then I want to hold it to my heart and then share it back out in trust that I will find it again (and again, and again) in new form.
Lyrics:
Deep beneath my thinking,
Leagues and leagues beneath,
I sense a refrain rising
Incomprehensibly
I brought my boat out wanting
To fill it up with songs
Or anything with meaning,
A texture to touch
I cast a thin clear line out
as far as it could reach
Then sat in hope awaiting
any wiggle of the string
Ocean, if I catch it
I promise now to thee
That I will learn it to my heart
And return it to the sea
May it return to me

Hey y’all ♥️ Hope the turn of seasons has been good to you so far, and that you’re finding ways to feel cozy & create beauty alongside people you love.
So excited to announce that we’ll be sharing the evening with at on January 16th! Something warm to look forward to on a winter’s night 🥰 mark your cal and snag tickets, we are going to make certain it’s a special one!
I am forever grateful for music and the healing powers it has, the ones that are made greater when we enjoy it together. So as the days get shorter a few of my intentions are to: go out and see as much live music as possible, play a few shows, gather at some open mics, walk near the river, learn new songs, find new songs in the air, share em. Hope to cross paths with you during some of these endeavors 💕 AND SEE U AT RICHMOND MUSIC HALL IN THE NEW YEAR! ✨✨✨✨

‘Dragonfly’ is out today :) This song came to me on my parents’ back porch, on the wings of a self-assured dragonfly who landed on my knee for a while while I was enjoying a peanut butter sandwich (moment pictured here 🤓). He flew away, just as certainly as he’d landed, and though I couldn’t follow him wherever he went I know it must have been somewhere good.
In a time thick with surface-level attention & unimaginable amounts of choices, it can feel sooo sweet to feel a pull towards something real, and then to fully experience it. This song is my way of calling that into existence when I am caught between choices or afraid to really dive in to a good thing.

The Next Place You Look is yours for the listening today :)
A million thanks to for laying down the beautiful pedal steel. Hearing that track for the first time felt like finding a big shimmering shell on the beach! It’s quite an honor to have your musical voice in this song.
Engineered, mixed, & mastered by none other than in his studio in Richmond, VA. 🖤✨
On family vacations growing up, my dad and grandpa would go down to the beach shop (Wings, Eagles, you know the ones) and buy big, pristine sea shells—the kind you can hear the ocean in. They’d take them down to the edge of the beach first thing in the morning and drop them along the shoreline, then sit back and watch gleefully as beach-walkers made their discoveries.
That same grandpa (we can all call him Pop!), always kept a steady supply of coins sprinkled around his gravel driveway for the grandkids to find when we visited.
And my dad—you’ll never meet somebody better at finding four leafed clovers and spotting shooting stars, or more likely to pause mid-story to point out a special bird singing in the trees.
It’s no wonder I have such a love for looking for things, being brought up by individuals so interested in laying out beauty for me to see, then guiding me to find it.
Looking for treasures is delightfully free—can’t be priced, and the price won’t rise. 🤍
May you find beauty the next place you look :)
P.S. Today is Pop’s birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY POP!! ♥️💕✨🎉🐚🌊💕✨♥️
