Vulnerability My story. (Sketches from in Hospital)

When the Bay Arra was inundated with smoke from the wildfires a few years ago, I was just recovering from Bronchitis and the smoke just pushed me over the edge into COPD. My lungs are my vulnerability spot but I do pranayama breathing. ChiGong and aerobic exercise to stay on to of my lung health. About 2 weeks ago, I started feeling like maybe I had a sinus infection. Over the next week I watched my oxygen levels drop until last week my O2 saturation was in the 70%s and falling. I went to Urgent care, quickly to the emergency room and then admitted to the hospital where I stayed for 6 days with pneumonia, a lung infection and an extreme exacerbation of COPD.
The medical care I received was amazing Hospital care is very different now. Instead of Marcus Welty coming around randomly to make notes in your chart, there are Doctors who are ‘Hospitalists”. You have a dayHospitalist and a Night Hospitalist. They are studying your progress 24/7 My daytime Hospitalist was amazing. He also works with Drs without Borders and had been in. Cosivo and just returned from the Ukraine.
My family and close friends embraced me in a tight circle of healing love as my body was healing (pumped through with soo many drugs, more steroids than Barry Bonds could even dream about! Lol).

Being in hospital in a critical health situation stops everything else in your life. No one is asking you for anything. No one is demanding payment of )ex) the water bill no one is asking whether you can get that job out by 5. You are on retreat. There are no demands on your time other than healing.

At the very beginning of April I finished working on a months long collaboration. Done. Paid. Now wha? Nothing in the wings. Hmmm. It just stopped.

My horoscopes for the month all said This will be one of the most powerful months of your entire life. Real transformation will happen. You may be concerned about money but don’t worry about it. A windfall will appear from somewhere totally unexpected. Out of the blue financial support showed up too. So I emerge in transformation. I feel more confident about my art ready to show up.
