On Earth Day we look to a future when our landscapes are prison free! We are so grateful for all of the time we get to spend envisioning that world with the youth who are building it. 👏👏👏 To all the youth holding institutions accountable today!
This mural was painted in 2020 across the street from the police station in Richmond VA. We collaborated with & .
The mural was rigged with audio that tripped when people walked by so as cops walked to work... They were serendaded by youth voices talking about abolitionist dreams and liberation.

Exit 95B headed into the capital of IL, lawmakers passing legislation that impacts youth lives and cops training at the IL Corrections Academy will pass by this striking billboard created by in collaboration with .
What if all of our lawmakers felt committed to youth dreams growing like Wildflowers!!!???
"I Dream of Being Free, Surrounded by Nature. Growing in a Warm Space, Like Wildflowers."
- poetry written by Chicago youth leaders.

"We want to create a spectacle of signage we can use over and over again at multiple locations."
In our endless effort to create tools for campaigns that are powerful to use, fun to create & bring the big ideas of young people to life...we made these sign sculptures with .khadar & Care Not Control in Philly. The coolest part about these things as reusable objects is that you can unbolt the shapes & move them around.
Plus how revolutionary is a royalty meets ninja turtles color scheme!!!???

From our first conversation with , they wanted to lift up the impact has had on creating a culture of excessive surveillance and normalization of the criminalization of young people in Minneapolis. Almost every young person in the room had a personal story of being followed or targeted by security while in the store.
They were interested in creating a graphic tee that exposed the true nature of Target which was founded and continues to be based in Minneapolis. The organizers wanted to emphasize how the company’s own branding speaks to the reality of the brand. , our event coordinator, supported us to pull in & .psd to bring messaging created by EYP to life & print shirts.
shared the work of from, “Targeted: How America’s Retail Darling Drives Youth Incarceration in Minneapolis,” Based on .riot Investigative Series: 21st Century Jim Crow in the North Star City. held a workshop with the organizers from EYP sharing how their experiences aligned with his research. worked with us directly to distill mountains of information into a piece focused on youth and craft a list of demands.
As we worked to create something focused on youth experiences and Target’s impact on youth incarceration, found “Keep it 100” a song by: Crescent Moon, DeAundre Dent and Ace about The Downtown 100, a list of youth harassed for years by Downtown Improvement District officers. knew this group through Kulture Klub Collaborative, connected us and they generously gave permission to include it as part of the sculpture. The song speaks directly to their experiences.
Once we saw how much Target had invested, we wanted to make these cash connections explicit. 🙏 Andra from 360 Property Solutions who helped make Target bucks. ✨Terry from Property Guardians & Andra built a clothes rack that we could cover in surveillance cameras. & Nick Popovici crushed the uniform ex*****on. & sourced perfect hangers to pull it all together.
