Without chlorine in the water a pool will quickly start to grow algae. If chlorine is not added to the water once this process starts, the algae can grow to a point where the entire pool turns green within a day.

Number one death for children ages 1-4 years is Drowning. In 2020 there were 50 children in Texas that lost their lives in pools. 💜💔

#1- Most Important is SWIM LESSONS for all ages.
Starting at 6 months you can do ISR. Infant Self Rescue lessons teaches a baby how to float on their backs and move themselves to the stairs. As they get older you need to continue with swim lessons. Lessons are expensive but worth every penny to give your child the chance to survive!

#2- Self closing pool gates.
Pool gates should enclose the pool so there is no way into the pool area except through the SELF CLOSING gate that has a latch high up that’s difficult to open. Never prop these gates open.

#3- Self closing/locking backyard gates. Children explore. If they see a gate open they might be curious and go into that backyard. A self closing/locking gate can stop this.

Always make sure to dispose of any vermin or large debris that is in your pool. The decomposing bio material will cause your phosphates to go up, and cause algae if not addressed!
