Fulfilling my 3 post requirement to make Instagram understand I’m legit—a few schoolhouse details from my home/office. It was a one room school from 1850-1910, then empty, then sold to become a residence in 1930.

I designed this logo way back in 1992 soon after college graduation. My college mentor was a potter and potters use something called a chop to mark their pieces. They’re more graphic than the kind of signature a painter uses. Another influence: My dad had a logo for his accounting business, Lazur and Associates, that used connected the L to the A like this—but with less panache. He was accountant after all. Although my last name is pronounced ‘Lazzer’, the pointy edges in this design likely reinforce the most common pronunciation: Laser

At first I thought they just did this for their own ad. Nope! The whole magazine. Now I understand why they had trouble finding a publication willing to do it. Insane but great!! Bonus, I turned on wifi calling too, so the ad worked even via media attention.
