📢 Franchise News Alert: Maryland has announced a fast track franchise registration option designed to help certain franchisors complete their annual renewals more efficiently.

This new process allows eligible franchisors to submit an updated Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) earlier in the year without audited financial statements and receive faster state review timelines.

Here’s what to know:
✅ Applies to franchisors currently registered in Maryland with fiscal years ending between December 24 and January 7
✅ Franchisors must file an updated FDD (without audited financials) by February 1
✅ Examiners will respond within 15 business days
✅ Responses to comment letters must be submitted within 15 business days (or by the April 10th deadline if permitted by the examiner)
✅ By April 10, franchisors must file their updated FDD with audited financials and the issuance date
✅ The state will respond within 10 business days
