Cycle Matters Fertility Awareness

Happy NFP Awareness Week!
I first learned about NFP as the "Catholic alternative" to contraception. But it's so much more than that.
It's an affirmation of the inherent GOODNESS of the human body.
It's an invitation to recognize your body as the marvelous gift that it is - the gift that YOU are, as an Image-Bearer of God.
It's a chance to learn more about your body and to support your health.
It's a chance to integrate your body, mind, and spirit in a world that tries very hard to divide and compartmentalize our lives.

Interestingly (and importantly): you can make significant amounts of estrogen without ovulating, but the same is not true of progesterone.

Frankly, calling hormonal contraception a "band-aid" gives band-aids a bad name.
Band-aids are not associated with increased risks of depression, su***de, auto-immune disease, and cancer. To name a few.
