Navigating Networking Events isn't necessarily an art. More so as a skill you practice at. Here are my top 5 tips for mastering a Mixer!

1️⃣ HAVE A PLAN: Before you decide to attend any type of networking event so yourself what is your goal. Is it to meet potential clients? Find a new lender? Find a mentor? Failing to do this is similar to grocery shopping on an empty stomach. You're not focused.

2️⃣ LISTEN more than you speak. Doing so you will quickly discover if the person in front of you aligns with the goals you decide on in tip one.

3️⃣ (My favorite) share something unique about yourself to be rememberable. My favorite way to introduce myself is by saying "My name is Mieya, like "my ear hurts". Works like a charm every time.

4️⃣ Listen to Destiny's Child and SAY THEIR NAME. People love hearing their name being said plus it helps you remember who's who when you follow up with them or vice versa.

5️⃣ As a person who can live in TikTok leggings I hate to admit that first impressions will make or break you. I'm not saying show up in heels and a beat face. But sometimes a wrap dress is more appropriate for a business casual dress code. If unsure of the dress code ask the host.
