Due to the poor air quality, Rhinelander trio Little Winter Sun Sun is moving their outdoor show into the Hilgermann Center! Free pop-up concert is open to the public and family-friendly.

WHEN: July 15, 6PM-8PM
WHERE: The Hilgermann Center (25 S. Brown St. Rhinelander)
WHO: You and all your friends!

LITTLE WINTER SUN is the indie-pop-folk project of Northwoods-based trio: Brett Winters, Amanda Anderson and Nate Sheppard. All solo artists in their own right, they each bring unique elements to the sonic blend: Winters with guitar, percussion, and harmonica; Anderson with piano; and Sheppard with a ukulele and looper. They cover a wide variety of genres spanning several decades, using three-part harmonies and a blend of folk, cinematic, and pop music to craft eclectic soundscapes.

Join us tomorrow night (7/14) at 7PM for the final CULTURE TALK in our current series dedicated to exploring the natural world. Learn about The Principles and Science of an Urban Food Forest with Rhinelander's City Forester, Tom Jerow!

In this lecture, Tom will first offer an overview of Rhinelander’s urban forestry program and then take a deep dive into an urban food forest landscape. An urban food forest (also known as an edible forest garden) is a permaculture-inspired garden within a city that mimics the structure and functions of a natural forest ecosystem while producing edible plants. The city is developing a public food forest with a grant from the USDA Forest Service through the Wisconsin DNR. The permaculture principles of a food forest can also be applied in a small urban backyard. Tom Jerow worked for the Wisconsin DNR for 34 years and holds a degree in Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. There will be a Q&A immediately following.

All lectures are free and open to the public and will be held at The Hilgermann Center (25 S. Brown St. in downtown Rhinelander). See you there!
