Registered Apprenticeship Programs are a valuable earn-and-learn employment strategy allowing individuals to gain hands-on experience, skills, and industry credentials while earning wages. Modern apprenticeships now exist in IT, Cybersecurity, and Clean Energy. Occupations such as IT Generalist, Cybersecurity Support Tech, Wind Turbine Tech, Solar Technician, and many more can be entered through apprenticeship.
In cybersecurity, for example, apprentices learn about information security, risk management, and incident response through instruction and paid on-the-job learning. As a broadband technician, an apprentice learns how to inspect and test data and communications equipment to support essential telecommunication networks, all under the supervision of a mentor.
