Looking for a meaningful way to serve our community?
In an emergency, phone systems and internet service can go down. Thatโs where Renton Emergency Communication Service (RECS) comes in ๐ฆธ๐๏ธ๐ป
RECS volunteers practice, train, and apply amateur radio skills to support responders with critical information sharing during disasters. They also operate our Mobile Communication Response Unit (MCRU) to provide emergency communication in the field ๐โก๏ธ

Did you know that Renton has a dedicated group of amateur radio operators? Renton Emergency Communication Service (RECS) volunteers support responders with information sharing using amateur (ham) radio, satellite phones, and a Mobile Communications Response Unit (MCRU).
In November, RECS will be teaching a two-day Amateur Radio Licensing class. This course prepares participants to pass the FCC licensing exam.
