Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue

Precious Bert was listed as 25-03244 at the age of 1 - 5 years in an extremely high kill shelter in CA & was scheduled to lose his beautiful life on Friday 10/11 at 2:00 pm. How & why Bert ended up there we will never know?
The videos posted of Bert in the shelter would rip your soul out. Unfortunately it had become evident per the shelter that no one was coming to rescue this boy & let’s face it, he was not neutered, needed a double cherry eye surgery & who knows what else?

We could not stand the thought of this sweet soul losing his life even though we are full & are getting many other deserving dogs well & homes who had also been let down. We sent in the pull & our amazing foster mum went & got Bert out so his life could be saved. Several things became abundantly clear very quickly, he was only a mere 3, he was extremely deathly ill & that he was a love & adored people & dogs.

He was taken to our amazing vet & it was determined this boy was in big trouble, he had pneumonia, trouble breathing, a high temperature & a foul smell coming from his eyes. He had to be admitted immediately & was & received x-rays, iv fluids, bloodwork, iv injectable’s, critical patient care the list went on & on.
If he was not euthanized at 2:00 pm on that Friday he would have lost his life for being so sick. Even though he was so violently ill he was still a loving little soul.

Thankfully Bert was able to leave the hospital after getting well & was able to go home to his foster mum & continue his wellness journey & thank goodness for Margaret. Bert was then able to go on & get his double cherry eye surgery, neuter, dental etc as he had become the life of the party & his love for his foster siblings & the joy he had for wanting to play with them & they be his best mate made it clear this boy was now healthy.
He adores going for walks, loves his homemade food, of course his love for his foster mum & foster siblings is endless now.

So far with Bert over $3000 has been spent on saving his life. Our spirited Bert is worth every cent & is ready for a home to cherish this boy & love him & never ever give up on him ever again. He will love you & your furry children to the end of the earth & you will be his world & you his.
