Status from the June Construction Advisory Committee:

Jack updated everyone on the Lindbergh pool Renovation project. It is proving to be very exciting but also has had challenges. The finished project will be spectacular and something the district and public will be very impressed with and proud of. currently there have been several pipe issues, locating, scoping and detecting crushed or deteriorated pipes. The chlorine is very corrosive and when the pool belonged to King county it may not have been maintained as well as needed. We have a very good contractor and they have been very responsive to any and all issues that have arisen. Rick said the pool was actually in better shape than expected since it was built in 1960 as a Forward Thrust project. jack said things weren't well sealed or flashed so corrosive elements seeped into areas we didn't anticipate. not sure if it was a budget issue or just materials that were available in 1960. Jack's construction meeting is tomorrow and they will be discussing any delays, they may be a little behind. Jack said the schedule was set up to give us substantial completion on August 3rd to give plenty of time, even if we have some delays, to get the pool open in time. Commissioning is a major issue on a pool project as well.
