We're delighted to welcome you to the 2025 Fall Semester at WNC! Whether you're returning, resuming or just starting your journey with us, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Seek Help When Needed:
Don't hesitate to reach out for help when you're facing challenges, whether they're academic, personal or emotional. WNC offers academic coaches to help with assignments; more at https://library.wnc.edu/about_academic_coaching. WNC provides access to mental health support and guidance at wnc.edu/advising/wildcat-wellness.

Get Involved in Student Life:
College is the ideal time to explore your interests and passions outside the classroom. Join clubs, organizations and groups that align with your hobbies or career aspirations. More about Student Life at wnc.edu/wildcat.

The WNC Experience:
You have a lot going on, but you’re not alone. Take a moment to listen to your fellow students and perhaps share your thoughts through WNC Experience, a Canvas-based gathering spot where students gain a better connection with their peers and the college. This "course" provides a week-by-week “map” of typical experiences during semesters and a place to get help, get a quick view of what’s happening at WNC during a particular week, celebrate successes and support one another.

Focus on Your Health:
Eat well, exercise regularly and make sure to get enough rest. WNC offers a food pantry for those needing assistance with food and hygiene supplies, as well as a gym in the Student Center. Visit the Student Center in the Dini Building for more details!

Have Fun:
College is a unique time in your life, and it's important to have fun and create lasting memories. The Student Center on the first floor of the Dini Building is a popular place for students to congregate to enjoy conversation, games and food. Strike a balance between your academic responsibilities and enjoy the social aspects of college.

As you begin a new academic year at Western Nevada College, remember that you are part of a supportive community dedicated to helping you succeed. This is your time to explore new ideas, grow personally and academically and create special memories.
