When most people think about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, they focus on the oxygen.

But there's another equally important part of the treatment: pressure.

Inside the hyperbaric chamber, increased atmospheric pressure allows your lungs to absorb significantly more oxygen than they can under normal conditions. That oxygen doesn't just travel on red blood cells—it dissolves into your blood plasma, allowing it to reach areas with limited circulation that may not receive enough oxygen on their own.

Why does that matter?

The combination of oxygen and pressure helps support the body's natural healing processes by:

• Delivering oxygen deeper into compromised tissues
• Supporting the growth of new blood vessels
• Helping reduce inflammation and swelling
• Promoting tissue repair and regeneration
• Supporting the body's natural ability to fight infection

Pressure isn't just part of the process—it's what makes oxygen therapy so effective.

Fireworks, sparklers, and backyard barbecues are all part of celebrating the Fourth of July—but they can also lead to burn injuries.

While many minor burns can be treated with basic first aid, more serious burns require prompt medical attention. For certain types of burns, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) may be recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to support healing.

HBOT helps by:

• Delivering oxygen deep into damaged tissue where healing is needed most
• Supporting the growth of new blood vessels to improve circulation
• Reducing inflammation and swelling
• Helping the body fight infection
• Promoting the repair and regeneration of damaged tissue

If you or a loved one experiences a significant burn this holiday, seek immediate medical care. Once you've been evaluated by a healthcare provider, HBOT may be considered as part of your recovery plan if appropriate.

We wish everyone a safe, healthy, and happy Independence Day. Celebrate responsibly, and if you need us, we're here to help.

Recovering from major dental or oral surgery takes time, patience, and the right support. We're honored to have been part of Daryl's healing journey and grateful he took the time to share his experience.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is often used to support healing following certain dental and oral surgical procedures by increasing oxygen delivery to healing tissues. This may help promote tissue repair, support healthy circulation, reduce inflammation, and encourage the body's natural healing response.

We're also glad the little things—like our extensive movie library—help make each treatment a little more enjoyable.

Thank you, Daryl, for trusting our team with your care and for your kind words.

If you're preparing for oral surgery or recovering from a dental procedure, call 775-826-2084 to schedule a consultation and learn whether HBOT may be appropriate for your treatment plan. For more information, visit northernnevadahyperbarics.com.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is that the chamber feels cramped or uncomfortable.

In reality, patient comfort is one of our highest priorities.

Our chambers feature large, clear acrylic walls that create an open, spacious feel, helping many patients feel more relaxed throughout their treatment. Inside, there's plenty of room to comfortably adjust your position, and our cushioned bedding and pillows are designed to make longer sessions as comfortable as possible.

To help the time pass, each chamber is equipped with sound so you can enjoy a movie or listen to music while you relax. Many patients are surprised by how peaceful their treatment sessions become.

If concerns about comfort or claustrophobia have kept you from exploring HBOT, we encourage you to talk with our team. We're happy to answer your questions, explain what to expect, and help you feel confident before your first session.
