NOW HIRING: Experiential Therapist
Heartland Farm Sanctuary
Full-Time (35–40 hours/week)

Do you believe healing can happen through meaningful connections with animals, nature, and compassionate care? Heartland Farm Sanctuary is looking for an Experiential Therapist to join our team and help create life-changing experiences for children, youth, and young adults.

Heartland Farm Sanctuary inspires compassion for all beings by:

Providing lifelong care for rescued farm animals

Offering inclusive humane education programs

Delivering experiential therapy in a safe, welcoming environment where people and animals heal and grow together

What You'll Do
As an Experiential Therapist, you will:

Maintain a therapy caseload (approximately 17 units per week)

Provide skill development, psychoeducation, and therapeutic services for youth ages 2–18 and young adults up to age 21

Develop individualized treatment plans and complete timely clinical documentation

Use evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each participant

Collaborate with Animal Care, Humane Education, families, caregivers, and community providers

Participate in weekly team meetings

Stay current with state licensing requirements and continuing education

Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:

Wisconsin license or credential in Recreational Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Social Work (required)

Experience in child and family therapy, recreational therapy, or social work

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Professionalism, creativity, initiative, and sound judgment

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

A passion for Heartland's mission of compassion and healing

Experience working with farm animals is a plus, but not required

Position Details
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday (afternoon/evening hours)

Pay: $23–$28 per hour
