✨Provider Spotlight✨

Sarah Hart, MSW, CSWI

“Even as a young child, I always had a passion for social justice and an interest in how the mind works. I have worked in mental health across many different demographics and settings, including inpatient programs, shelters, and private practice. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of what it means to be a human and the importance of tailoring treatment to each individual.

I know that no single approach fits everyone. My work is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and the use of dialectics to address persistent emotional and behavioral patterns. I also draw from additional modalities to create a flexible and personalized approach for each client. I have over 20 years of experience with DBT and would love to share my knowledge!

As a therapist, I am warm, open, charismatic, and direct. I am an active participant in the therapy room and bring energy, humor, and a down‑to‑earth style to the work. I am extroverted by nature and enjoy working with clients who are ready to engage, reflect, and invest in their own growth.”

Understanding Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM): Supporting People After Traumatic Events 06/05/2026

When a critical incident occurs, the impact doesn’t end when the scene is cleared.

Whether it’s a line-of-duty death, serious injury, workplace fatality, traumatic call, or another unexpected tragedy, people often carry the effects long after the event itself.

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) provides education, support, and practical resources to help individuals and teams navigate the aftermath of a traumatic event. It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t about forcing anyone to talk. It’s about creating space for people to understand common stress reactions, connect with support, and identify healthy ways to move forward.

At Connected Therapy, we provide CISM services to first responder agencies, businesses, healthcare organizations, schools, and workplaces throughout Northern Nevada following critical incidents.

If your organization has experienced a traumatic event and would like information about CISM services, we’re here to help.

Mental Health Awareness Month: You Don’t Have to Be Falling Apart to Need Support One of the biggest misconceptions about mental health is that you must be in crisis before you deserve support. You don’t have to wait for everything to feel like it’s falling apart.
