Musing: The first question in the Bible
Interestingly the first question continues to be the same question from God’s throne today?
The answer is Genesis 3:9 “Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
Where are we? As we look across the landscape of Christianity that is the clear voice from heaven. Where are we? Perhaps one of the more difficult things is to be able to look at ourselves and really answer - Where are we?
Does my heart beat the same way His heart beats? Do I think the way He thinks? When I think of these things I remember with great joy:
Lamentations 3:22 (AMPC) “It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not”
I use to read Romans 7:24 and think Paul was just casually saying he was a “wretched man”. But I’m beginning to catch a small glimpse into the depth of what Paul was saying in Romans 7:24 (AMP) “Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]?”
I’ve concluded that in order for me to really see myself I need a change in the way I think.
Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”
I have concluded that behavior modification doesn’t work that it requires me/us to give God our permission to change us
Romans 12:2 (ERV) “Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.”
Lord when people see us we want them to see you. We want people to hear your heart not ours. We want people to hear your voice and not ours. That people would feel your gracious love and affection and then people will know we are your “kids”.
John 13:35 (NLT) “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
This song was written 14 years ago but still our cry:

From Bishop Chris Lusweti:
Greetings pastor Brian I just want to update you on the progress after the conference, the conference blessed more than 250 pastors and church Leaders from different churches together, this year conference was unique because not only equiping pastors but we also found that your teaching on love was very powerful because after the conference our brothers and sisters who had issues with one another came together and reconciled and ask each other forgiveness which really touched my heart, i have never seen people accepting their mistakes and repenting to one another like this, this is one of the most powerful conference,we had also many people who came to the conference when they were sick but left healed completely many miracles happened during the conference, also the prophecy was accurate praying for each pastor during the conference wasn’t easy i was very tired but God gave strength to accomplish the mission for more than 2 hour praying foe each leader wasn’t a joke but after prayers many tetified that each prophecy you spoke was accurate, praise God,the prophecy was also accompanied by healing ,there was a pastor who came to the conference with both legs had problems,he was using sticks but left totally healed in Jesus name i really thank God for connecting me to a true man of God like you our ministry together will help to empower many pastors followed by signs and wonders which will change many lives, Most of the pastors who attended the conference have been calling me testifying the power of God during the teachings and they are also teaching their church members to practice this same message of love and many families have reconciled with each other after practicing the message of love, this is the power of the true gospel of the kingdom We are praying for God provision we must preach the gospel weather we have little resource or many resources the gospel must be preached,We a brought many pastors from denominations together to unite the body of Jesus Christ because we are one family of Jesus Christ,we want to encourage each other know the truth despite of our denomination and doctrines, they were united to hear the truth, Your coming to Africa is just like Abraham in Genesis 12-1 God told Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse them and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you,We are proud of you and your ministry work in Africa may the Lord provide for your needs

DO WE HAVE A PLACE WHERE WE MEET WITH GOD
We all desire to know God better don’t we? We all are desiring a more intimate relationship with Him. Yet like any relationship we have to spend time with them. Especially quality time. Quick passes conversations, time of just being with one another it all takes time an effort. We have what we call legitimate excuses bt in the end they are just that excuses.
We hear the heart cry of Moses in Exodus 33:13 “show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight.” We hear it again through Paul in Philippians 3:10 “that I may know Him.”
Yes, I can meet with God in my car but the difficulty is that He doesn’t have all of us. We are distracted because we need to focus on the road. He doesn’t have 100% go our attention. Though the time is good and valuable He doesn’t have all of us.
I want to encourage you to have a place where you meet with God at home. I remember in the early 1980’s our dear friend Leslie came to watch our children as we went on our honeymoon some 9 or 10 years later. When we returned from our brief time away she said to me. Every time I pass by your brown lazy boy recliner I am overwhelmed by the presence of God, I said to her, you have found my altar. It would be an interesting study if we studied altars in the Bible. Noah after coming out of the arc the first thing did was build an altar, Jacob awakes from a dream and he builds an altar. Moses is instructed to build the tabernacle of meeting where God would descend in a cloud and He would talk to him face to face like a friend,Exodus 33:11 “So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend”.There are a number of references where the enemies of Israel would tear down their altars (interesting).
Encouraging all of us to have a place where we can meet with God. I find quiet worship creates an atmosphere for our meeting,
