Get Your HVAC System Ready
Winter focus = heating → Spring focus = cooling & airflow
Replace your air filters (they’ve likely collected dust all winter)
Schedule a tune-up so your AC is ready for warmer weather
Turn Your Plumbing Back On Safely
Winter focus = preventing frozen pipes → Now = restore water flow
Reconnect garden hoses
Turn outdoor water valves back on slowly
Check faucets/spigots for leaks or cracks (freeze damage is common)
Look for any pipe damage before full pressure returns
Check Your Water Heater
Winter focus = efficiency → Now = performance check
Flush the tank if you didn’t before winter (removes sediment)
Make sure temperature is set around 120°F
Inspect for leaks or unusual noises
Inspect Your Electrical System
Winter focus = safety during storms → Now = reset & verify
Check your breaker panel for any issues
Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (again)
