An Open Letter to the Horse World: Matt Brown and Cecily Clark on Welfare and Change 12/16/2025

Lord knows I've made my mistakes, but I truly try to learn from them and not repeat them. It's a slow (and sometimes heartbreaking) process, but the horses deserve better. That's what fuels me. I'm building foundations and filling in the holes they came to me with to the best of my abilities. Horses are a perpetual education. True partnership is what I'm striving for every day - it may mean not being out there showing, but the real prize is seeing the horses happy and heard. Because they're all unicorns in their own way and I'm lucky to be a part of their lives. ❤🦄

An Open Letter to the Horse World: Matt Brown and Cecily Clark on Welfare and Change Eventer Matt Brown and FEI dressage rider Cecily Clark share a candid open letter on horse welfare, training culture, accountability, and change in equestrian sport.
