How do you demonstrate the culinary skills you have learned? You open a mock restaurant for lunch! This is what the CTE at Bend High year 3 culinary students did this month. They prepared the menus, created all the dishes and drinks, and served their invited guests. Students shined and guests were treated to a delicious meal! Bend-La Pine Schools

Repurposing donated materials is one way North Lake FFA & Career Tech Education provides hands-on experiences for their students. Students decided to use the donations of spools, wood, and metal sheeting to create raised garden beds. This is a great way to reuse scrap materials and provide a fundraiser for the program.

The Hood River Valley High School agriculture department loved hosting 275 local 3rd graders for our annual “Touch and See” event! Students spent the day exploring agriculture through hands-on activities, learning about livestock, plants, food production, and the many ways agriculture impacts our daily lives. Every student left with a tree to plant at home, and teachers received Ag in the Classroom books and resources to continue the learning back in their classrooms.
