For many longtime Redlanders, Taylor’s is more than a bar—it’s a piece of local history.
Taylor's Bar & Grill has been serving the area since the 1930s, making it one of the oldest continuously operating watering holes in the Redlands area. Generations of locals have gathered there for celebrations, after-work drinks, pool games, karaoke nights, and casual dinners.
A few reasons it holds a special place in Redlands culture:
🍊It feels like old Redlands. Longtime residents often describe it as a place that hasn't tried to become trendy. The atmosphere, décor, and unpretentious vibe remind people of the Redlands they grew up in.
🍊It's a neighborhood gathering spot. Before craft breweries and upscale cocktail lounges became common, Taylor's was where many locals met friends, played pool, sang karaoke, and got to know the bartenders and regulars. Reddit users still mention it when discussing.
🍊Traditions matter. Taco Tuesdays, rib nights, happy hour, karaoke, and weekly specials have created routines that keep people coming back year after year.
It's a "come as you are" place. Locals often describe it as welcoming to everyone—from construction workers getting off a shift to retirees, bikers, college students, and families meeting for dinner.
The location is part of the story. Sitting near the historic Barton Road corridor and the old San Timoteo area, it feels connected to an older chapter of local history that many residents are nostalgic about.
For many Redlanders, Taylor's isn't necessarily remembered because it was the fanciest place in town. It's remembered because it was dependable—a place where people made memories, saw familiar faces, and felt connected to the community.
That's the kind of place that becomes a local institution.
