Help Local Families!
This Sunday, December 7th @ Station 8, 0930-1130, Redding Firefighters will be hosting Santa Claus for your Christmas family photos. Last year the proceeds from this event helped provide some Christmas cheer for 4 local families. Grab your ugly Christmas sweater and head to Station 8 for a chance to see Santa; he’s got his list and he’s checking it twice…
Thank you to the Brown family for continuing this tradition of giving and kindness during the holiday season.
Hope to see you there!

Redding Firefighters are saddened to share the news that Susan “Suzie” Smith has passed away as a result of the injuries sustained during the accident involving REACH 5 in the Sacramento area on Monday evening.
The entire Redding Fire Family and Shasta County First Responder community requests you lift this family in your thoughts and prayers during this unimaginably difficult time. We are proud to support Suzie’s family during their time of need.
The loss of Suzie will be felt for a long time to come; hopefully that loss will also prompt fond remembrance for her impact to her patients, her coworkers, and the entire community. It is through these memories we honor her work, her spirit and her sacrifice.
Until we see her again, always waiting on one.

Redding Firefighters and Citizens for a Better Redding working together to make our community safe, and family friendly.
What is Measure A? Measure A is a citizen led initiative designed to allocate specific funds to enhancing and improving public safety, roads, parks, Redding Regional Airport, and our beautiful river access to the Sacramento River in the heart of town.
As a citizen led movement these sectors have been designated as priorities for our community and will be the recipients of the dollars generated by this initiative. Allocation of these dollars cannot be changed without voter approval.

Redding Firefighters are asking you to consider Don & Debbie Andrews.
Don is a local dozer operator who lost his home during the Park Fire while working suppression operations on a separate fire, he has since been reassigned to the Park Incident. While away his wife, Debbie, had enough time to load a vehicle and their 3 dogs before the Park Fire impacted their home.
Don is a long term operator, having started in 1987 on the Fountain Fire, an incident that put Shasta County of the statewide fire map. Since then it seems as if at some point in someone’s career they will find themselves in Shasta County wondering if it’s always this hot, this steep, and if fires are as intense as they encounter. The answer is, yes. Always. He is the brother of Redding Fire LODD Fire Captain Ed Andrews, and uncle to Acting Fire Captain Eddie Andrews. In 2018 he was actively working suppression operations during the Carr Fire and was involved in the burn over that took Brother Jeremy Stoke from us.
Please consider helping Don and his family. A gofundme has been established by their family to assist them during this trying time.
