This memory popped up on my feed today. 13 years ago I built this frame.

It was made in Las Vegas at Fast Frame. I previously worked at the location. The wonderful owner would let me come in and design and build whatever I wanted. The opportunity she gave me to hone my skills and develop my design style was invaluable.

She took me to my first WCAF Expo around that same time. Seeing all the cool framing, all the vendors, and classes in one place got my wheels turning. That set me on the path of entrepreneurship

Everything I do today is influenced by those kind gestures. Thank you Marcia Swidarski for you the opportunity you gave me.

I am so grateful that we are still friends to this day.

-SIGNATURE SERIES VERTEBRAE FRAME-

This is our first time framing a Mike Gamble print. I found out about his work last year, I am a big fan. He has done a couple Tool prints.

We used our signature series vertebrae frame. Over 40 hours of just 3D printing on this one. The vertebrae is 3D model from a real spine. I will always wonder who it belongs to, LOL.

The inner part of the frame highlights our new dichroic acrylic process. It matches the foil of the print perfectly. The symbols in the art are spread out all over the frame.

-Optical Illusion Frame-
I
was asked to frame this @goosetheband print from
@michaelhackerillustration. The only request was to "Hit that angle". So, we did.! I designed and re-designed until we got the perspective and angles just right. It looks like a big block from straight on.

We sourced the exact same holographic foil as the print. It is mounted to a textured acrylic to give a water ripple effect. I hand drew all the shapes on the outer frame to match all the details in the print. The lines are extended from the art onto the frame.

The final touch is the grass. I found the most realistic version that I could, and it was safe to cut on the laser.

We took a big creative risk on this design. I am very happy with the final result, and the client loves it!! 01/20/2025
