Music has always been a powerful way to reflect. 56 years ago this Memorial Day weekend (May 30, 1970), Jimi Hendrix performed his historic, soulful rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" live at the Berkeley Community Theatre, creating one of classic rock's most enduring tributes to the nation and its people.
