“Access to the outdoors is about more than infrastructure—it’s about who belongs.”
That was the message from American Trails Executive Director Mike Passo in his testimony before the House Committee on Natural Resources last week.
While the EXPLORE Act offers a strong path forward for expanding access to public lands, real progress depends on the people and partnerships behind the work—especially federal staff and local collaborators.
When we invest in trails and accessibility, we open doors for everyone to experience the outdoors.
