Smokey Bear and the Shasta-Trinity National Forest made an appearance at Weaverville's Fourth of July parade on Saturday, joining a bunch of our friends to celebrate America's 250th birthday!

Smokey, Engine 343, and Water Tender 246 joined the parade, as did the Shasta-Trinity's Fritz McIntosh, Nathan Jarrett, Gavin Murray, Stonewall Lawson, Regelio Galaviz and Troy Boudro, who walked the parade on foot.

We had a good time celebrating with all our friends in Weaverville and Trinity County, and wish everyone a Happy Fourth. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!

As we celebrate our nation’s history, let’s also look ahead to the next 250 years of forests, rivers, and wild places. By practicing Leave No Trace, together we can protect the land for generations to come.
