Our Beloved Bridge - Redding, CA. I was pondering the Turtle Bay Exploration Park the other day and decided what an important centerpiece it is to our town. It draws people together...tourists and locals alike. I see couples strolling hand in hand, joggers exercising along the various paths, people walking their dogs, single mothers taking their little ones on mini adventures, etc. If it was the city's idea to unite us, then the Turtle Bay Exploration Park was a great investment. And it's always an honor shooting alongside friend and renowned photographer Brian Rueb.

Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay is an architectural marvel! The glass decked, cable-stayed cantilever suspension bridge reaches 217 feet into the sky, spans 710 feet across the Sacramento River, and forms a working sundial. As an environmentally-conscious structure, Sundial Bridge was intentionally constructed without river footings to leave the salmon-spawning habitat undisturbed. While world-renowned and environmentally sensitive, Sundial Bridge also inspires onlookers with it's "bird in flight" design, symbolizing overcoming adversity.
