It’s important to make sure you’re ready to evacuate quickly if needed. 

Steps To Follow:

🔥 Pack Essentials: Include water, non-perishable food, medications, and important documents.

🔥 Add Emergency Supplies:Bring a flashlight, extra batteries, and a first-aid kit.

🔥 Plan for Pets: Don’t forget pet food, water, and any necessary supplies.

🔥 Prepare Extra Clothing:Pack weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.

🔥 Choose a Convenient Location: Store your kit in an easily accessible spot for quick retrieval.

By preparing an emergency evacuation kit, you’re setting yourself and your family up to stay safe and contributing to community resilience during wildfire season.

Here’s how you can make an impact:

🔥 Clear Flammable Materials: Remove any flammable items, such as dry leaves, firewood, or debris, within 5 feet of your home. This reduces the risk of flames reaching your house.

🔥 Maintain a 30-Foot Zone: Keep plants well-spaced, healthy, and free of dead vegetation within 30 feet of your home. This helps slow the spread of fire and creates a buffer zone.

🔥 Extend to 100 Feet: Thin out trees and shrubs, and remove ladder fuels (vegetation that allows fire to climb from the ground to tree canopies) up to 100 feet from your home. This minimizes the chance of fire spreading rapidly.

By creating a defensible space, you’re not only protecting your property but also contributing to the safety of your community.
