Until all are free, none of us are.
Shabbat Shalom! Today is Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Keshet offices are closed today in observance of Juneteenth. Keshet staff are spending the day engaging with and learning from Black Jews, and you're invited to join us.
We encourage you to check out JOCI's Juneteenth resource page, which features events and materials to mark the day. It's so important to honor this date right now, as public observances of holidays like Juneteenth and Pride Month are threatened because they celebrate marginalized people and our stories.

As Rabbi Sandra Lawson, Keshet LGBTQ+ Jewish Hero, shares in her piece, "Juneteenth offers us a day for celebration, reflection, and healing,"
"We are celebrating what it means to live freely in the United States and we also must remember that for many of us freedom is a journey. The fight for freedom for all is not over. There is still work to be done. Juneteenth is an important reminder to all of us of why we fight: The struggle for freedom for all must continue because until we are all free, none of us is free."
Continue to support Black Jews year-round, including at Keshet's upcoming Clergy for Trans Rights Panel, where Rabbi Sandra Lawson will speak, along with other Jewish leaders, on the Jewish imperative to act for trans rights. keshetonline.org/calendar

Pride is a Jewish value.
We won’t back down from the fight for LGBTQ+ Rights. We won’t stop being clear in our values. Join us.
Our hearts ache for the members of the San Diego Islamic Center, and also for our friends at the Islamic Center of Redding. We send you prayers of healing and strength, as you grapple with the loss and sense of violation.
Hate should have no place in our country, especially hate that is targeted on the basis of one’s religion.
