We have a last minute opening for 2 rods at Lava Creek Lodge the week of June 22 - 29, 2026. This is an incredible week with dime bright kings pouring into the system!
Space in this week virtually never comes open as the same guests return annually, so it is a remarkable opportunity to experience one of the last great fly rod king fisheries in Alaska. The opening is for one year (2026) only, as the guests who have been coming in this week for years will keep their spots for 2027. The home river is fished equally well with either double-handed or single-handed rods.
Please let us know if you or someone you know would be interested in jumping on this opportunity to experience some of the best king fishing of the year at Lava Creek!
$9,950 per person/week, includes flights between Anchorage and the lodge

Ross x Coors Light Cimarron LT are in stock! Limited availability in 5/6wt and 7/8wt. When the mountains turn blue, it’s on. Inspired by the iconic Coors Light can, the Ross x Coors Light Cimarron LT features color-changing mountain graphics that react to temperature. Finished with Ross’s industry-first and patent pending ThermoChromic technology, the mountains turn blue below 70°F, signaling safer conditions for trout, and fades clear as temperatures rise. Because knowing when not to fish matters too.

TFS Guide Paul Lenos putting his clients on the bass lately! Good reports from the spotted bass factory that is Lake Shasta this week. Fish are moving into shallower water and the fishing has improved quite a bit. Dark float ‘n flies fished at least 8’ deep continues to be the most productive method. Bass will still be on shad balls when you can find them, the trout are moving into deeper water for the most part. We are entering a very good time to fish the lake with a fly rod, we’ve got great guides who will give you a memorable day on the lake!
