Did you know that balance plays a role in more than just preventing falls?

The vestibular system—our body's movement and balance system—helps support posture, visual tracking, attention, and coordination. These skills are important for everyday activities, including learning in the classroom & reading.

When children move, spin, climb, jump, and balance, they're not just having fun. They're helping their brains build important connections that support development and learning.

Movement and learning go hand in hand. 💙

Did you know that emotional regulation starts in the body, not the brain?

When children are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, anxious, or upset, their nervous system may be in a state of dysregulation. Before they can think clearly, solve problems, or follow directions, their bodies often need help feeling safe and regulated.

This is why movement, deep pressure, breathing exercises, and sensory strategies can be so powerful. When we support the body first, we create the foundation for emotional regulation.

Everyone learns a little differently!

Are you someone who learns best by:
👀 Seeing it
👂 Hearing it
✋ Doing it
🚶 Moving while learning
❓ Something else??

Tell us in the comments: What style of learner are YOU?

Bonus question: Is your child the same way, or completely different? ⬇️

We know summer can feel crazy and busy—camps, trips, activities, all the things.

But if you’re having a more chill, stay-at-home/in-town kind of summer and looking for a simple routine… this is for you 🤍

Try this easy rhythm:

☀️ Morning = movement
Get the wiggles out early (outside play, jumping, swinging, obstacle courses)

🧘 Midday = calm
Build in quiet time (books, coloring, sensory bins, rest time)

🌅 Evening = more movement
Let them get those last wiggles out (backyard play while you grill, bikes, water play, running around)

🌙 After dinner = wind-down
Help the body slow down (bath time, dim lights, snuggles, calming play)

This kind of flow supports your child’s nervous system and can make a big difference in regulation throughout the day 💫

Save this to try this summer!
