We wrapped up the Rotary year with a splash... literally! What better way to thank Gail for her amazing two year run as President and welcome Jennifer as our fearless new leader than by gently encouraging them into the pool! They both took it like champs, gracefully slithering in from the shallow end steps.
Laughter, gratitude, and great company made for an unforgettable evening. Here’s to new beginnings and continued service above self!
We meet tomorrow and we want you,
At the M&M Ranch, you know it’s true!
From 7 to 8am, come see what we do,
Fridays are better with our crew!
'cause we rise with the sun, we're the Red Bluff Sunrise Rotary crew,
We're around 50 to 80, but we still got moves, ain't that true!
Not chasing TikToks or late night scenes,
We're playing White Elephant and living our dreams!
We've got Rustic Rose vibes, we like to gaze at each star,
Talking about service and playing games, yeah, that's who we are!
We're not the 20/30 club, running wild all day,
We roll a little different, but we still slay!
Hanging out at each other's homes on some nights,
Board games, belly laughs, good food and good sights.
Annual party? You know the deal,
Pizza and wine, it gets real!
Phones out, laughing, splash goes the boss,
That's Sunrise Rotary, we flex with some sauce!
We meet bright and early at M&M from 7 to 8am,
Coffee on hand, ready to serve again!
Not twenty, not thirty,
Still sharp, still sturdy!
Sunrise Rotary, coolest club in our city!
Fiscal year comes to an end, you know the rule,
Dress nice and you will get pushed in the pool!
Laughs, good deeds, and a whole lot of cheer,
That's how Sunrise Rotary does it every year!
Scholarships lifting up the next big dream,
Dictionaries handed out to the littlest team.
Homeless youth - we're standing tall,
CHP Explorers, we answer the call.
PAL's got kids playing safe and smart,
Dolly's books bringing hope from the heart.
And when you catch a bus at the Shasta College Red Bluff Campus you'll say
Yep, they built that - that was them, Sunrise Rotary baby!
Sunrise Rotary, living our prime,
Giving back to the world, one project at a time!
We rise with the sun - that's how we roll!
50 to 80 years young, but still rocking with soul!

This morning, Sunrise Rotary was honored to host guest speakers Woody and Berie from our District leadership team. They shared valuable insights on strategies to grow our membership and engaged us in thoughtful conversation about the future of our club. Each member contributed their vision for where they see our club in the next three years, and we look forward to continuing that discussion in our upcoming meeting.
We were especially inspired by Woody’s message:
“Rotary and service above self is our best path to happiness.”
Thank you, Woody and Berie, for your leadership and encouragement!

Last Friday our club welcomed Greg Jones - New County Supervisor - as our speaker.
Greg Jones, originally from a family farm in Los Molinos, has had a diverse background including time as a cable car driver, Navy service, and studies in Arabic and graduate school in Washington, D.C. He eventually returned to farming and became active in the community, including organizing the Orchard Festival. Encouraged by his wife, a former Chico State economics teacher, he ran for County Supervisor.
As a new supervisor, Greg is taking time to observe and understand local government. He emphasizes transparency, consistency in basic services, and meeting the needs of a largely senior population. He supports a general sales tax for broader funding and is focused on spending a $12 million grant wisely, addressing housing affordability and community needs.
