Distortion Drum

This is going to be a shameless plug, but here we go! So, instantly after I (Beau, drums) left Distortion Drum, I continued to play on and off with our bass player Rory while also playing in another band in the Sacramento area called Burn.Heal.Scar. Through this band I met Martin Bianchini who was the guitar player. Fast forward a few more years to 2012 and Rory and I are writing songs that could make an album. The only problem was that we didn’t have a guitarist or a singer to help us make the album sound complete. I had known Martin for a few years by now and so I asked him if he would like to participate in writing and recording guitar parts for our album and he happily obliged. Rory and I wanted to record The Color Blue, which was actually an unreleased Distortion Drum song from the early days, so we brought in Mike, the Distortion Drum singer, to record his vocals for this song. We were only able to record this song with vocals while the rest of the album stayed instrumental - it just didn’t work out in our favor, but the songs are all complete and frozen in time the way we finalized them back in 2013. If you could do us a huge favor, please check out our album. It sat on a hard drive for over 10 years and it was finally released. It may not sound like Distortion Drum but it still has some of that blood running through its veins. Where Distortion Drum was chaotic and heavy, this project was more refined, our musicianship had matured, and we had freedom to experiment more with our sound.
