Join us for our next Teen Café Open Mic—a comfortable, low-pressure space to share your voice and listen to others. Bring an original poem, song, short story, something you made five minutes before you walked in—anything goes.* Or just come to listen and vibe.

All genres and experience levels are welcome. The open mic is for teens, but all are welcome to join our supportive audience, too. The Art of the Bean and Leaf is open to the public during this event and light bites & beverages are available for purchase.

We have an awesome new group of PWN Teen teaching assistants who will be helping us out in our summer programs this year. ✨✨✨
Some TAs will be working with our youth programs, some will be working with our outreach programs, and most will be taking turns leading Teen Writing Space.
We love this teen leadership program and can’t wait to see our TAs in action!

Join instructor Jerry Portwood (former editor at Rolling Stone, Out magazine, and founder of The Q***r Love Project) for Writing Q***r Love Stories, a virtual workshop exploring the many forms q***r love can take: romantic, platonic, familial, intergenerational, and everything in between.
You'll read foundational q***r authors like Audre Lorde, Edmund White, and Dorothy Allison, then develop your own piece with personalized feedback. Leave with the start (or even a finished draft!) of a story that's uniquely yours, plus the chance to pitch it to The Q***r Love Project for possible publication.
No matter how you identify, all are welcome.
